Harvested in our meadows on the hills between Cagli (PU) and the Umbrian side in the Upper Tiber Valley, Paglianatura alfalfa hay retains intense fragrance and color. Rich in fiber, it has an excellent protein source and calcium, useful in the period of gestation and weaning.
Alfalfa is a very nutritious legume and should not always be left to the rabbit. It may be administered, together with other foods, to puppies or pregnant or lactating females and angora rabbits.
Our special mountain hay with a mix of four balanced nutrients. The dried dandelion from our fields, which with its numerous vitamins, minerals and trace elements strengthens the natural immune system. Chamomile: a great food for nervous rabbits with calming effects, it can also work to relieve pain. Carrots: in moderate quantities they represent a fun snack always very much appreciated (candy effect). Finally, alfalfa that with a balanced dose provides nutrients and helps intestinal transit.
When choosing hay, make sure it is fresh and smells good. Do not take hay that is brown or looks moldy or smells like freshly cut grass. Keep the hay in a dry place inside its breathable paper bag that allows you to store it and prevent it from going bad.
